Me
I'm Graeme Elliott; I created F.Oh.Oh.D to help people increase their understanding about food, as well as realise that cooking can be simple, enjoyable and, most importantly, cheaper and healthier than convenience foods that can make up so much of people's diets.
Ohhhh...
I don’t know if I was that incessant kid that always asked why, or whether it was my clever and logically-minded dad that instilled in me the importance of understanding how something works, but I put great stock in that, if you understand how something works, then you are completely free to create.
We never stop learning.
The more questions we ask,
the better we become
I've been fortunate to grow up having a good understanding of food, which mostly came from my mum and school, but I put little value in it at the time.
This changed when I started to enjoy and respect food and realise the importance of how our diet affects our health. I've seen more and more that there is a massive gap in people's real understanding of food and I wanted to help change that.
As well as my Level 3 NVQ in Professional Cookery, I have a Level 3 award in Training and Education. Both have given me a solid starting point to grow and now I spend a lot of time researching food and pulling apart the science behind it so that I (and then you) can better understand it.
All the information I've gathered over time, developed and adapted has allowed me to be free with food and I want to pass as much of that on to others.
Though all our experiences are mainly created with adults in mind, I am DBS checked for working with younger learners and adapt what I do to engage with them.
I run F.Oh.Oh.D with my wife Susie, and we moved to Hinckley in 2018 and love it here. There are so many great independent shops and businesses in this town, which if you find the time to look, make it a great place to live. Situated in Leicestershire and on the edge of Warwickshire, I am easily accessible throughout the Midlands.
My end goal is not to show you how to cook a meal but to help you feel confident with food and the ingredients you use on a regular basis. All of my Experiences at their core are built on the basics and use only things you have in the kitchen already, or are easily available from anywhere.
Don't like something or never want to use it? Then we change it up to what you do like. You do all the making, cooking, eating and learning, so you walk away excited to keep cooking, and so far, that is exactly the feedback we're getting.
Your Experience
All Experiences take place at F.Oh.Oh.D in Hinckley, unless arranged otherwise. Our spacious kitchen is fully climate controlled, which means air conditioning keeping you cool and comfortable in the summer, underfloor heating keeping you warm relaxed in the winter.
Private experiences can be just for you, or for a group of up to 6 people (depending on the experience). The cost is the same; £140 for a one to one experience, or £85per person for two or more people. Once the experience is booked, it's all yours.
Fancy trying something a little lighter and meeting new people, our events are just £50 per person and are run on certain dates throughout the year.
Or why not kickstart your cooking skills or develop them further, with our regular lessons, starting at just £45.
For more information on how all the Experiences work, please look at the FAQs
There is off-road parking available for three cars, and more on the road if needed.
Experiences start from 09.30 and end around 13.30, though can go over if you need more time. Evening Experiences start at 19.00 and end at 21.30.
As with all Experiences, they are tailored around you and your group. If you have any special requests, I can work with you to accommodate them.
If you have any questions or ideas of something you'd like to do outside of what is on offer, please get in touch. I'll always be learning and developing new ideas.
Please make sure to read the terms and conditions before making a booking.
