What is the difference between a Private Experience and an Event Experience?
A Private Experience is for you and your chosen party; you choose the date and what to make. Event Experiences are scheduled on specific subjects and dates and run seasonally. They are open for up to five people to book on and offer a great way to meet new people. These can provide a more cost effective way for one person to attend.
Can I book an Experience at any time?
You can book a Private Experience any time that we are available. This is usually Tuesday - Saturday (please check the booking calendar to see the latest availability). Dates are readily available throughout the year.
Can I customise my experience?
Yes, if you want to focus on a specific area or learn something outside of the offerings on the website, please get in touch and if we are able to cater for you we will. We want you to get the most out of your time here so please tell us what you want to take away from the experience.
What age groups are the Experiences for?
All Experiences are designed around adult learning, though can be tailored for young adults and children. In the case of under 18's attending adult supervision is advised unless arranged otherwise, but always must we speak with a parent or guardian before a minor attends.
What payment methods do you accept?
All experiences must be paid for in advance and can be done so in a variety of ways: Online payment: We accept payment from most credit/debit cards via out online booking system. The payment side is handled by Stripe. We also accept apple pay and google pay Bank Transfer: If you do not wish to pay online, you will receive an email after booking with the details to pay via bank transfer. Simply let us know when you have completed the transfer and we'll update your booking to complete. Contactless Payment: We accept contactless payment at F.Oh.Oh.D. You are welcome to pay at the venue beforehand. Contactless can also be used to pay for additional drinks and shop purchases on the day of your Experience. Cash: Cash may be used to pay for your Experience in advance.
What level of cooking do you teach?
We like to make sure the basics are covered first so that you have the understanding of how to cook. There we can build on that to incorporate more comlex ideas. That being said, if you are already a confident cook and want to know more, then let us know so we can move ahead and build on new things for you, starting at more advanced techniques. Remember your expereince is all about you.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
The only thing you need to bring is something to take away what you have made (and haven't eaten) such as Tupperware. Everything else is provided for you, and you will be well looked after with drinks and food. If you would like to bring your own alcohol to an experience, you are more than welcome to if it is a suitable experience. You may also wish to bring your own knives, which you are also welcome to bring and use.
Is there space for parking?
Yes, there is off-road space for up to three cars, and further on road parking available. A safe, dry place to park bikes is also available. Please be aware although it is a private drive, your parked cars are done so at your own risk.
Will I need to take notes whilst cooking?
Though this is a cooking lesson, it's designed around you enjoying the experience and understanding what's going on, so that you can recreate it yourself. You are welcome to take notes, however all the information from the experience will be sent to you afterwards so you can refer to any details we covered. Forgotten something that we talked about in the lesson? just email and I'll be happy to recover for you. We want you to have the knowledge and cook what you have learnt.
Can I take pictures during the Experience?
Often we're having too much fun to remember to take pictures, but yes please, you are welcome and encouraged to take pictures whilst you are here, as sharing helps let other people see what happens at F.Oh.Oh.D. Sometimes we take pictures too, however privacy is important to me, so if you do not wish for any pictures to be taken, please indicate this on your consent form before you start. We will always send you the pictures first as well to check you are happy with them. If not, they're deleted.
Where are you located in Hinckley?
We are on the edge of town, about a 10 minute walk from the centre, and 15 minutes from the train station. The location is easily accessible from the A47, A5 and the M69. There is a bus stop just round the corner from us that is on a main run.
Do the experiences cater for different dietary requirements?
Most of our experiences can cater for all dietary requirements. When booking you will be asked for your dietary needs before hand, and will be contact if there are any issues. Our kitchen handles many major allergens, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. We are very happy to advise you on which Experiences may be most appropriate and whether adaptations are possible, so please get in touch before hand if you have any concerns.
What are your please enquire days?
Our standard days for booking are Tuesday - Saturday, though on occasion we can take bookings outside of this. We also have people booking regular cooking lessons and sometimes shorter events, which can allow us to take a 'suitable' booking for an experience on the same day.
