It's important to respect the animal we're eating and with the cost of meat rising, you really want to make sure you're getting the best from it, cooking it safely and with confidence.
This hands-on experience is designed to remove the guess work and help you be in control of exactly how you want it, even once the experience has finished.

Cooking with confidence...
After a warm welcome drink from our menu of teas and freshly ground barista style coffees, we’ll introduce the course outline and get started. You will:
- Understand why we cook meat, including fundamentals of health, safety and food handling
- Understand how to handle, store and prepare meat
- Learn about safe food temperatures
- Understand different cuts of meats and how to effectively cooking each
- Learn how to fillet and debone a whole chicken
- Experiment with 'conditioners' for meat, understanding how they can affect final taste and texture
- Learn about salting, brining, rubs and marinades
- Combination cook a chicken breast to perfection
- Make sauces to go with your meal
- Cook a rump steak, understanding importance of pan heat and searing
As well as a refreshment break during the experience, you will also sit down for a meal afterwards, supplemented with some extra accompaniments. You can then take away with you any leftovers you have made.
Evening bookings may have some elements of this experience reduced or provided as demonstrations.
